Types of Industrial Packaging Tape
An overview of carton sealing and specialty tapes.
Carton sealing tapes
- BOPP tape — the most common carton sealing tape.
- PVC tape — quieter unwind, often used for hand application.
- Water-activated tape — paper tape activated by water that bonds into the carton surface.
Specialty tapes
- Filament tape — reinforced for bundling and heavy cartons.
- Double-sided tape — joining and mounting.
- Floor-marking tape — aisle and zone marking.
- Tamper-evident tape — shows if a pack has been opened.
Selection
Consider carton surface (recycled board can be harder to seal), carton weight, temperature and dispenser type.
